General Price List
This is our complete price list, the same one we are required to hand you in person. Direct cremation is $1,194 in every county we serve, and the county and state fees are collected at cost and itemized on your statement.
These prices are effective as of August 27, 2026. Prices are subject to change without notice.
The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic service and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.
Direct Cremation
Simple Cremation is direct cremation without embalming, viewing, or ceremony. Our Simple Cremation package does not include burial services, use of facilities and staff for funeral ceremonies, viewing of the deceased, memorial services, or embalming. Direct cremation is for families who want a simple and flexible farewell without a viewing or service.
Our charges include
- Services of a licensed funeral director
- Local transportation into our care
- Refrigerated holding (ten days)
- Filing the death certificate
- Social Security notification
- The direct cremation process
- Travel-safe plastic utility urn
- Cardboard alternative container
- An online obituary tribute page
- 24/7 support by phone or text
If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are composed of corrugated fiberboard.
Terms of payment
Payment is expected within 48 hours of arrangements and is required prior to services such as transportation, death certificate filing, and cremation being rendered, unless other arrangements are made. Western Cremation Alliance does not accept insurance assignments or extend credit. We accept all major credit cards.
Itemized list of goods and services
This fee for our basic service and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations. This charge includes, but is not limited to, availability of staff 24-hours a day, staff and facility to respond to initial request for services, consultation with responsible party to determine services desired, coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory and/or other parties involved in final disposition of the deceased, filing of local death certificate, and obtaining local permits with the appropriate department. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses related to our facility such as insurance, maintenance and utility expenses, secretarial and administrative costs, and equipment and inventory expenses.

Care and preparation of the body
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a public funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.
Transportation services
Our charges include basic services of funeral director and staff, removal of remains, preparation of remains as required, dressing/casketing, scheduling/coordinating, and local transportation. You may purchase a casket from our funeral home, or a shipping tray if the receiving funeral home will provide your casket. International shipping timelines and requirements vary by jurisdiction. Services requiring unusual scheduling, coordination, or third-party constraints may incur additional fees.
Note: Airline transportation is not included in our charges.
Receiving services may include coordination with airlines, cargo facilities, or foreign providers.
Cash advances
These are fees set by the county and the state. They are not ours. We collect them and pay them on your behalf, and they are itemized on your statement.
What it comes to by county
Our cremation price is $1,194 in every county we serve. Which county applies is decided by where the death happened, not where the person lived. A Federal Way resident who dies at St. Joseph in Tacoma is a Pierce County death.

Pierce County changed on August 3, 2026. Under Pierce County Code Chapter 8.102, created by Council Ordinance C2025-552, the Medical Examiner must now authorize final disposition for every death in the county, including deaths certified by a physician. The authorization carries a $100.00 fee under Pierce County Code 4.58.070. It applies to every funeral home working in Pierce County, ours included.
Certified death certificates are separate, at $30.00 each. A Washington death certificate can be ordered from any local health department in the state, not only the county where the death occurred.
