Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located? Can I come in to make arrangements?
We serve the Seattle and Portland metro areas, including Clark, King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties in Washington, and Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties in Oregon. Our administrative mailing address and arrangement counselor staff are in King County, WA. We have CANA certified partner crematories in Kent, WA and Portland, OR, with transportation centers in these locations as well. Please keep in mind, however, that part of the reason we can keep our service prices low is because we do not have the ability to meet families to make arrangements in these locations. Instead, the families we serve complete the arrangement forms online.
Once my loved one is taken into your care, where do they go?
Your loved one is immediately transported to our closest partner cremation facility. Our CANA certified partner cremation facilities are located in Kent, WA and Portland, OR. Each cremation facility maintains licensed holding facilities which are secure and climate controlled. Your loved one is taken care of there until all required paperwork and documents are completed, at which time we will proceed with cremation.
How long does this process usually take?
The process typically takes 7 to 14 business days. We must obtain authorization from the physician signing the death certificate before we can schedule cremation. Some doctors are very responsive, while others may take several days.
How do I obtain certified copies of the death certificate?

Once the death certificate is completed and filed with the state, certified copies are mailed directly from the county health department, with insurance when available.

If you paid for copies at the time of arrangements, we’ll handle the order for you. If you've completed arrangements with us in the past 12 months, we may still be able to order certified copies on your behalf.

Certified death records are not public and are only issued to qualified applicants such as a spouse, parent, child, sibling, legal representative, next of kin, or others with a legal need.

How am I sure the cremated remains I receive are those of my loved one?

We have strict controls and monitoring in place to ensure that every person in our care is tracked properly. From the second your loved one is brought into our care, they’re identified with an ankle tag including their name and date of death. Before cremation, an ID number is assigned and stamped on a metal disk – this then accompanies your loved one throughout the cremation process, so we always know who is who.
