It is with great sadness I announce the passing of our father Victor Hugo Nevarez at the age of 76, born on December 17, 1947.

Our dad was the eldest of 6. He is loved and remembered by his siblings, Ruben Nevarez, Elva Chavira, Janeth Acosta, Marilu Frescas and Raul Nevarez.

Victor grew up in Chihuahua, Mexico where he met my mother, the love of his life, Graciela Jimenez, at the tender age of 14. Together they had 4 children, Ivonne Mata, Grace Campos, Ofelia Lopez, and Victor Nevarez II. Followed by many loving grandchildren who mourn his loss, Amanda & Diego Mata, Angel Carrera, Sofia & Cristina Campos, Rosemary Montoya, Jose Chacon, Jazmine & Julian Lopez, Victor III, William & Patrick Nevarez.

Victor’s loyalty and work ethic was impeccable. For many years our dad worked as a police officer in Juarez, Chihuahua. His love for his Harley Davidson motorcycle was undeniable. I clearly remember, at the age of 5, waiting patiently for my dad to come home and take me and my older sister for a ride around the block in his motorcycle. Our dad was a dedicated family man, a loving husband, and a very patient dad.

Victor was liked by everyone he met His smile was so welcoming. He will be dearly missed by all.

A very special thank you, to my dad’s caregivers, Samu and her husband Alem, without them I would be lost.

A private family celebration will take place in November in our hometown of El Paso, TX.
My dad’s ashes will be placed next to his parents, Ofelia and Modesto Nevarez, at La Paz Faith Memorial & Spiritual Center.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or a charity of your choice.
