It is with great sadness that we announce that Verna L. Paris-Thompson, 72, from Seattle, Washington, passed away on October 11, 2024, after an extended battle with cancer.
Verna was born on March 25, 1952, to Robert and Mary Paris, in Earle Arkansas. She moved to Seattle at a young age and attended Garfield High School. She was known by many as a hostess turned baker at Winchell's Donuts in High Point. She then worked for thirty-one years at Kelley's Answering Service until her retirement.
Verna (aka Paris) encouraged many people around the greater Seattle area with her gifts of paintings, arts, and crafts that she gave away freely, especially during her favorite holiday, Christmas.
Verna was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary, her two brothers, Robert and Raymond, and her husband, Stephen. She is survived by her three daughters, Aundria Paris-Armstrong, Nichole Paris, and Mary Hendrickson; two nephews (and their families); two sons-in-law; and three grandchildren, Paris and Israel Armstrong and Amaya Hendrickson.
A private memorial and scattering of her ashes will be held in her honor.
🥹Mommy, I miss you so much, you are and were my Bestie; Always fun, loving, forgiving, I can’t wait to see you again!!!
My friend i miss you, our late night texting, our calls and most of all your smile that can be seen and felt even in your absence. From the time we met we connected in a special way and I will hang on to those times with fond memories never letting go. You not only embraced me but my family as well. Thanks for just being you RIH.
Although I had the pleasure of being in your presence only a few times, I was so enriched and inspired by your creativity, style, and incredible love for others and life as a whole. You touched so many and your legacy will live on. I can’t wait to see you and your beautiful mansion in glory (which I am sure was made as unique as you)! Until then, Ms. Verna!❤️
Verna you were special. I’m grateful God sent you here to bless so many people. Grateful I have a piece of you through one of your paintings.
In paradise. You shall wear a crown.
Momma Verna thank you for always treating me and my sisters like we belonged to you as well. We loved you dearly. Thank you for all the memories and stories. I’m grateful for your kind words and prayers. No matter what you were going through you always smiled through it! You will be missed but your spirit and strength will always be felt. Rest now in Gods arms, until we meet again!
