Susan Jean Jensen Wagenblast passed away at Southwest Medical Center on November 10, 2024, at the age of 78.
Susan is preceded in death by her adopted parents Harry and Mildred Jensen and biological parents Patricia Satriles and Joseph Fontana, daughter-in-law Shelly Hubbard, and several siblings. She is lovingly remembered by her children Christopher Wagenblast of Washougal, WA, Sandie (Richard) Belli of Oak Habor, WA, and Sterling Wagenblast (beloved kitty) of Vancouver, WA; Grandchildren Jacob (Meredith) Foote of Edmond, OK, Clinton (Robyn) Foote of Bentonville, AR, Jessica Foote of Grand Junction, CO, and 4 great-granddaughters Naomi, Esther, Kate, and Leah. She is also survived by her two sisters Linda and Sandra Fontana, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Susan was born May 24, 1946, in Portland, Oregon. She was adopted by Harry and Mildred Jensen and lived in Portland, Rose City, Burns, and Prairie City, Oregon. Growing up Susan loved to read and enjoyed learning many new things by reading. She was an avid life-long reader, even when her eyesight made reading extremely difficult. She loved animals, especially horses and cats. She fondly remembers always having a cat to keep her company. Susan graduated from Grant High School in Portland, OR and attended college at Portland State. She worked at many different jobs and talked often of her time working at Costco, Vocational Rehabilitation with individuals with disabilities, and later in life of being a Personal Care Provider. She was well known in the libraries of Portland and Vancouver and loved to volunteer there. Susan was a smart, witty, resilient, and fiercely loyal person who loved her family and friends and will be missed by all.
