Steven Jay Hunter
Tillamook, Oregon
Sep 7, 1949 – Oct 22, 2016

On the evening of October 22, 2016, at 67 years old, Steven Jay Hunter passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, OR. He was comforted by his wife and son.

Steven Jay Hunter was born in Portland, Oregon on September 7, 1949. He was the eldest child of Francesca Marta Wagner–Hunter and Timmon Cuff.

Spending his early years in Portland, Oregon, “Steve” did his best to stay out of trouble. Often he would point out that his greatest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. Steve spent his life working to raise and support his family.

In 1997 Steve met and fell in love with Terri Winkle, his wife of almost 20 years. Steve finally realized his dream of living on the Wilson River and spending his days catching salmon, hunting deer in the forest, listening to music, and many people will tell you that Steve gave them their first ride on a motorcycle.

He loved to laugh and had a great smile and will be remembered as a man with a large heart, an infectious laugh, and an adoring father, grandfather, husband, and friend.

Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Francesca Marta Wagner–Hunter, father, Timmon Cuff, and sister, Trina Hunter. Steven is survived by his wife, Terri Winkle, step-father, George Hunter, sisters, Georgette Hunter and Mary Lawson, sons Adrien Hunter and Steven Francis Hunter (Kim), daughter, Aryanna Berringer (Daren), and grandchildren, Kelsey Lilith, Donovan Steven, Camryn Elizabeth, Grace Cecilia, and Atlee Lincoln.

At his request, Steven will be laid to rest at the Rose City Cemetery in Portland, OR. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, October 29, 2016, 2:30 pm, at Grant Park Church, 2728 NE 34th Ave (NE Corner of 34th Ave & Knott St), Portland, OR 97212. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family cover the cost of final services can be made online at www.gofundme.com/2w0duzw or to Aryanna Berringer.
