Eloisa Murphy, a devoted mother of six, a pillar of her community, and a beacon of warmth to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in 1935, Eloisa grew up in San Antonio, Texas, at 18 years old she married William Murphy and fulfilled the role of a military spouse while they traveled the world with their children for his work. Upon returning to the US, in 1976 they divorced. Eloisa was a single mother in the workforce for the first time in her life. She continued to raise her children while dedicating her working career to F. W. Woolworth Company where she worked in customer service as a cashier and floor manager. She eventually retired in 1998 before moving to Washington State. After her retirement, Eloisa began helping at the South Whidbey Senior Center by serving others coffee and food while socializing.

Beyond her role as a devoted mother, Eloisa was deeply involved in her community. Her passion for serving others knew no bounds. She dedicated countless hours to volunteering at the local senior center offering a helping hand to anyone in need. Eloisa's selflessness and unwavering dedication made her a beloved figure in the community, earning her the respect and admiration of all who crossed her path.

Eloisa was known for her vibrant personality and genuine interest in others. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and valued, whether through her warm smile, her compassionate listening ear, or her infectious sense of humor. Her friendships were a testament to her kindness and her ability to connect deeply with people from all walks of life.

Eloisa's life was defined by her unwavering commitment to family, her boundless spirit of service, and her infectious joy in social connections. A celebration of Eloisa's life will be held on August 3rd at 11am at Saint Hubert’s Catholic Church in Langley, Washington. Eloisa Murphy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, her legacy of love and service shining on in the lives she touched.
