Ricky Morgan was born on February 11, 1957, in Batesville, Mississippi, to Beatrice Creekmore and Walter Morgan. He spent his childhood and early years in Mississippi before journeying to Livingston, Texas, where he worked as a carpenter and made his living trapping and selling furs and meat.
In 1979, Ricky and Joy Sims welcomed their son, Ricky Morgan Jr. In early 1986, Ricky relocated to Eugene, Oregon, where he built a new chapter of his life in the Pacific Northwest. He and Karyn Fegels welcomed his second son, Jon Morgan, in 1989. In 2004, Ricky met Kim Pham through a mutual friend. They called Springfield, Oregon their home for the remainder of his day.
Ricky spent the rest of his life calling the beautiful Pacific Northwest his home. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, trapping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends—simple joys that grounded him and brought him peace.
On May 30, 2026, Ricky Morgan passed away peacefully in Portland, Oregon.
Ricky Donald Morgan Sr. is survived by life partner: Kim Pham, Children: Ricky Morgan Jr., Jon Morgan, Ashley Morgan, Chau Nguyen, Cam Nguyen, Grandchildren: Nikolas Morgan, Tyler Morgan, Robert Morgan and Riker Morgan.
