Rex Leland Bott, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away peacefully on January 2nd, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 69 years young and bravely fought pancreatic stage IV cancer over a short three-and-a-half-month period.
He had an exceptionally strong zest for life with each new day bringing a new adventure. His passions were horses, motorcycle riding, camping, eating good food and making everyone around him smile. Rex enjoyed taking long drives through the Pacific Northwest mountains, spending time at beaches along the Oregon coast and planning family get-togethers – picnics were one of his favorites! His many jokes were willingly and unwillingly shared with friends and strangers alike. So long as we can remember his laugh, a part of him remains alive within us.
Of the many occupations Rex had, he most enjoyed delivering flowers to local stores and shops. Early in his career, he received a culinary degree and worked as a chef. He later became a vehicle delivery transporter. He genuinely enjoyed meeting new friends and building new relationships.
Rex is survived by his two brothers: Allan Bott and Greg Bott, and his two daughters: Tricia Bott and Amanda Boeckholt. Along with many other special family members he held dear including nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Bott and his mother, Lois Bott, of whom he referenced to as his “living angel”. He cherished his sweet American Bully, Queenie.
“The death of any loved parent is an incalculable lasting blow. Because no one ever loves you again like that.” ~ Brena Ueland
Private memorial services will be held a later date. Donations in Rex's memory can be directed to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or a charity of your choice.
Rex Bott was a personal friend of mine for many years and I miss him every day, we worked at an action off Johnson Creak in Portland Oregon together at one point in our journey. And we delivered trucks around the United State’s for many years he could make people laugh where ever we went, Rex enjoyed good food and sight seeing animals and small children, Rex’s passing left a hole in my life, I keep expecting him to call me and ask me to go on an adventure that popped in his head at the spir of the moment. He is truly missed by the still loved by many more. I don’t like too say goodbye so I’ll say till later My friend. Jackson Hammond said that.

Rex is my uncle and I didn’t really get to know him as well as I wanted. One thing I do know is he loved his family and had a strong relationship with God I know he is pain free and living the after life with Jesus happily and lovingly looking after everyone he left behind. See you soon but not to soon uncle. You are missed.
