In Loving Memory of
Larry Wayne Ness
of Lakewood, Washington
01/15/1954 – 11/22/2025

Those who knew Larry will remember him as a deeply intelligent, stubborn, and independent man. He was a talented painter and golfer, and loved to play basketball, go fishing, take trips to Mexico, and sit outside watching the world go by while “chatting shit,” as his son would say. His relationship with others, including his family, was not always simple, but beneath the rough edges there was a good man.
Larry is survived by his son, Jake Ness, as well as extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward. He will be cremated and buried at the Tahoma National Cemetery with full military honors. The service will be soon, and the details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements are finalized. If you would like to attend, please reach out to his son Jake Ness or his ex-wife Stephanie DeGagne on Facebook, or by phone/text if you have their numbers.
Larry was the 2nd oldest of us 4 NESS kids from Lakewood, Washington. I’m the youngest. I can still remember when I started 7th grade at Lochburn Junior High School. The first teacher of the day apparently had my siblings in their class. Because after she called my name she asked if I was related to……..
I got that for the two yrs I went there. Thank goodness I didn’t go to Clover Park. It would have started all over again. Larry and I had a great brother and little sister relationship. I remember when he was in a horrible car wreck and his face was all cut up. I just grabbed him and cried so hard. Then not much later Larry joined the Navy. Again I cried so hard. Now since learning about him passing away, I have been crying just about every day. I miss my brother so much. I will always hold tight to all of my memories of my brother close to my heart. And I know that my other two siblings, Lee and Peggy will be doing the same thing. My deepest condolences goes to my nephew Jake. I know it will be a rough time for him to live on without his Father. But he
is loved by his family and friends.
I miss you so much my dear brother. You are now in Heaven with the rest of our family.
Rest in peace 🕊️
Your little sister,
