In Loving Memory of
Kerry Orie Giles
of Gold Bar, Washington
05/07/1956 – 05/10/2025

May 7, 1956 – May 10, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kerry Orie Giles, who departed this life on May 10, 2025 in Monroe, Washington, at the age of 69. Born on May 7,1956 in British Columbia, Canada, Kerry was an amazing friend, a devoted father, and a beloved son. Kerry is survived by his cherished mother Orma; his loving children Lindsey Giles, Rachel (Jonathan) Gillett, and Julian and Jayden Giles; precious grandchildren Bradley Gillett and Henry Giles; sisters Gloria Finley and Kim Moon; and a handful of nieces and nephews who absolutely adored him. He was preceded in death by his father and brother. Throughout his life, Kerry worked in many places and wore many hats. As a young man, Kerry followed his love for horses and worked at a thoroughbred farm in Eastern Washington, learning horseshoeing, breeding and training. Kerry also worked the oil rigs in Alaska,Wyoming and New Mexico. Kerry also worked in facility maintenance roles at Hertz Car Rental in Albuquerque, New Mexico, North Seattle Community College, Providence Hospital in Seattle and Walmart. Regardless of the job, Kerry approached each day with resilience, dedication, and a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on everyone around him. He was proudest of the deep relationships he built with his family and friends. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures–road trips, camping in the mountains, cruising in his truck or on his Harley, listening to music both old and new, and tuning into his favorite late-night radio show, Coast to Coast. He treasured hearing his daughter read him his horoscope, going to live shows, and most of all, spending long hours talking with loved ones in person or over the phone.
A memorial service to honor Kerry’s life will be held on June 12, 2025, at High Noon, cowboy time at Shepherd of the Valley church, 36817 143rd PL SE, Startup, WA 98294. Anyone who knew Kerry knew he was a truly beautiful soul–fiercely loyal, deeply understanding, unshakably forgiving, and, above all, profoundly loving. He embodied the kind of goodness the world rarely offers anymore. He will be missed more than words can say.
