In Loving Memory of
Jeanne Frances Connolly
of Kenmore, WA
03/08/1936 – 09/05/2025

A 1955 graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany, Jeanne was married for nearly 59 years to the late Bernard “Buz” J. Connolly Jr. until his passing in 2016. She adored her family and found her greatest joy in being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt to many nieces and nephews, and neighborhood mom and nana.
She worked for many years in the Albany City Clerk’s office and was honored as the first recipient of the City of Albany Employee of the Year award.
Jeanne endeared herself to everyone she met. She lived in service to others, always looking to help and to ease burdens. She loved children, animals, blue hydrangeas, and above all, her family. To her children, she was a best friend and confidante, a source of unconditional love, wit, and humility. She was a devoted wife and sister who never hesitated to offer a smile, a hand, a meal, a room, or a silly joke. She lifted others up while remaining in the background herself, showing incredible strength, resilience, and compassion. Her family believes that if ever there were an angel on earth, Jeanne was one.
She is survived by her children Carol Edwards of Schenectady, NY; David Connolly (Randi) of Bellflower, CA; Linda Connolly (Dave) of East Greenbush, NY; Marc Connolly of Averill Park, NY; and Nancy Mulcare (Michael) of Kenmore, WA; her ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her sister, Kathleen Bogdanowicz.
She was predeceased by siblings Patricia Malinowski (Edward), Rosemary Martinez (Patrick), Virginia Connolly, Georgianna Malundrecullo, Therese O’Donnell (Terrance), George (Sonny) Kelly, and Joseph Kelly.
Her beloved grandchildren are Nancy Donaghy (Thomas, Falls Church, VA), Richelle Reichard (Erich, Groton, NY), Patricia Bremseth (David, Aldie, VA), Brian Pomykai (Schenectady, NY), Anthony Connolly (Webster, NY), James Mulcare (Kirkland, WA), Sean Mulcare (Bellevue, WA), Patrick Mulcare (Bellevue, WA), and Chad Schalkle (Los Angeles, CA).
Her seven great-grandchildren include Kane, Olivia, and Cooper Donaghy; Taylor and Hudson Reichard; and Victoria and Isabella Bremseth.
Jeanne will be laid to rest privately beside Buz. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. It would be her wish that, in honor of her memory, we do one of the following: adopt a sheltered pet, feed someone who is hungry, look in on the elderly or the vulnerable, or lift a child’s spirits with your focused attention and empowering words.
So sorry for your loss. I will always remember Aunt Jeanne and her kindness. She would always wake us in the morning with “rise and shine”. She did shine a beautiful light.
Love to you all.
Aunt Jeannie was always so kind and I have many great memories of spending days on Terrace Avenue. Love and prayers for her and the family.
I had the privilege of working with Jeanne in the Albany City Clerk’s office for over 10 years. She embodied style and grace. She was trustworthy beyond repute and practiced discretion every day. I attribute much of my success at City Hall to Jeanne. She always had my back and taught me many things with great patience.
Cheers to a marvelous and beautiful woman!
Jeanne was an angel on earth. She worked tirelessly for the City of Albany City Clerk’s Office. She was always eager to help someone or solve a problem with no fuss and an abundance of kindness. I will remember my years working with Jeanne as some of the most rewarding experiences I had in a 40 year public service career. Godspeed Jeanne. Heaven needs you🙏
