In Loving Memory of
Jeanetta Judy Paget
of Vancouver, WA
07/17/1933 – 05/10/2025

Jeanetta Judy Jacobson Paget passed peacefully on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at her home in Vancouver, WA. Judy was born on July 17th, 1933, in Seattle, Washington to parents Henry “Hank” and Jeanetta. She was the second of four children. Her parents, older sister Joan, and younger siblings Jeanie and Jay preceded her in death.
Judy’s fondest childhood memories were of living and assisting her parents at their boat house in Edmonds, Washington on Puget Sound. The family later returned to Seattle, where Judy graduated from Queen Anne High School.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an important part of Judy’s life. It was there that she met her husband, John Paget. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple, which at the time was the closest temple to Seattle. Judy and John later moved to Vancouver, Washington with their sons Jeffrey and Gregory. Their third son, Mark, was born soon after the move.
As a homemaker, Judy had her hands full with the arrival of daughter Lynn, and sons Richard and David, raising a total of six children. She also served in several roles within the LDS Church, including in the Cub Scouts, Primary Children’s Program, and the Relief Society.
Judy and John divorced after many years of marriage. Although this was a difficult time, Judy found joy in her growing family and loved being surrounded by photos and stories of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In her later years, Judy’s health declined due to diabetes, kidney failure, and dementia. Despite this, she always lit up during visits from family while residing in an adult family home. After her passing, a caregiver shared that they once found Judy sitting up in the middle of the night. She said she had just missed her visitor. When asked who it was, she replied, “Jesus was just here talking to me and said he would take me home soon.”
Judy wished not to have a formal funeral or memorial, but rather to be remembered with love during moments of joy and sorrow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Vancouver’s Meals on Wheels program. A member of that organization found Judy in a diabetic coma nearly ten years ago, and their intervention gave the family many more precious years with her.
I loved our Aunt Judy ! I can still hear her girlish laugh!😆
