In Loving Memory of
Hang Thi Nguyen
of Bellingham, Washington
05/05/1954 – 04/09/2025

It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Hang Thi Nguyen, who left this world on April 9th, 2025 at the age of 70 in Washington State. A long time resident of Angier, North Carolina, Hang was the heart of our family—her selflessness and generosity was evident in the way she cared for her children and grandchildren. Her greatest happiness came from gathering her family around the table to share a meal, often one she spent hours carefully preparing. She was an excellent cook and was always striving for perfection, and throughout her life passed down her knowledge and culinary techniques onto her children. She loved to talk about food which often came hand in hand with stories from her past. She always had wisdom to share, along with a good laugh.
Hang was born in Saigon, Vietnam into a large family of twelve siblings. Her journey from Vietnam to America was not without its challenges, but her strength and perseverance allowed her and her children opportunities unimaginable in her homeland. She studied to become a naturalized citizen, and worked countless hours while putting herself through school. She obtained her license as an esthetician and nail technician, eventually owning her own business with a loyal following. Through her sacrifices, her children were given the freedom of opportunity and to be able to follow their dreams.
Hang’s legacy of love, strength, and family lives on through her six children—Thaihien Hicks, ThaiHanh Autry, ThaiHoa Burroughs, ThaiHieu Blair, Christy Huynh, and Kenny Huynh along with her twelve adoring grandchildren. We will carry her memory in all our hearts forever.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held in her honor on May 17th, from 11 am – 2 pm at 5513 Johnson Pond Road, Fuquay Varina, NC.
